Abstract

1,055,733. Spray producers. CORNELIUS CO. Sept. 26. 1963 [July 1, 1963], No. 37977/63. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F1]. A rotatable spray device comprises a hollow member 11 with an apertured lower end 16 adapted to extend into the spray liquid in a sump 15, and a cap member 12 arranged to close the upper end of the member 11 and to be directly rotated by a motor 14, the hollow member 11 and the cap 12 being united by three bayonet connections. In each connection an ear 34 integral with the member 11 engages an inclined surface 13 in a short generally horizontal peripheral slot in the cap 12 and locks the member to the cap on relative rotation. The horizontal slot is a side opening from a vertical slot, the lower portion of which constitutes the initial path for the lug during insertion, and the upper part of which partially defines the liquid discharge aperture 21. Adjustment of the said relative rotation by firmly seating the upper edge of the member 11 against the inside of the upper surface of the cap 12 provides effective control of the size of the portion of the discharge orifice 21 defined between the cap and the hollow member. The sump 15 contains baffles 28 to prevent turbulence and further baffle devices 29 aid the flow of the spray liquid up the tapered surfaces 17, 18 of the member 11.
