Abstract
1,054,050. Stopping compression - ignition. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Nov. 18, 1964 [Dec.18, 1963], No.49943/63. Heading F1K. To stop a compression ignition engine, the contact 21 of a manual switch 7, e.g. the starter switch, is moved to close a circuit through a solenoid 5 which then closes a fuel supply valve 1. When the engine stops, a normally closed oilpressure controlled switch 9 opens to break the solenoid circuit whereby the valve 1 is re-opened by a spring 3. The valve 1 may be operated manually in the event of electrical or oil pressure failure.
