A magnet assembly comprising a moulded coil block 6 (Fig. 6, not shown), a yoke 7 (Fig. 7, not shown) and an armature 8 (Fig. 8, not shown) are removable as a unit from a channelshaped base 5 by sliding the assembly from right to left along the channel. When inserted in the base 5 the coil block 6 is urged upwards by spring 17 of the base so that vertical edges 23 of tapered cam surfaces 21, 22 engage behind ledges 13 struck inwardly from the upstanding limbs of the channel 5. Movement of the coil block in this position is prevented by the provision of further ledges 12 which co-operate with corners 24 of the block. The yoke 7 and armature 8 are inserted into two holes 25 in the block from the bottom and top respectively and the yoke is cushioned by a shock absorbent pad 19 (Fig. 2, not shown) on the base 5 beneath it and by a pad 27 (Fig. 4, not shown) on the block 6 above it. The armature is biased upwards by left-hand and right-hand coil springs to prevent turning due to spring torque. A pivoted tab 35 on the block retains the armature in position. Two contact housings 2, 3 (Figs. 17 and 18, not shown) are mounted in superposed relation of the coil block and each includes four contact sets in separate containers. A double-ended push-button protrudes from each container and each container may be reversed to change it from normally open to normally closed or vice versa. A manual actuator 45, 67 is provided which acts directly on the armature. The contact assembly is more fully described in copending Specification 1,053,489.
