Abstract
1,053,447. Cooling photo-copying apparatus. CHEMISCHE FABRIEK L. VAN DER GRINTEN N.V. May 28, 1965 [June 17, 1964], No. 22784/65. Heading G2A. Original and copy sheets are passed in contact round a transparent printing cylinder 2 having a light source 1 therein, by a series of narrow endless belts 3. These are disposed along the length of the cylinder and spaced about 1-2 mm. apart. Cooling air is passed into a fixed box 10 from a supply pipe 11, and escapes through a series of perforations 13, Fig. 2 (not shown), the perforations being arranged in rows so that each row directs jets of cooling air on to the cylinder in the space between two adjacent belts. The arrangement tends to minimise differential temperature effects due to the belts being in contact with the cylinder in some places and not in others.
