Abstract
1.053,414. Mixing appliances. NAUTAMIX N.V. July 3, 1964 [July 12, 1963; April 9, 1964], No. 27572/64. Heading B1C. In a mixer of the kind having an inverted frusto-conical container 1 swept by a rotatable mixing screw 2, the container has an outer rigid wall 15 and an inner flexible wall 16 forming a chamber to which access is gained by a valve 18. In operation the chamber is evacuated to withdraw the inner wall from contact with the screw; when it is desired to scrape incrustations from the inner wall the chamber is opened to atmosphere. In another embodiment (Fig. 1, not shown) the inner wall is normally out of contact with the screw and can be brought into contact with it by admitting compressed gas to the chamber.
