A complex of the tetracosapeptide H-Ser- Tyr - Ser - Met Glu(OH) - or Glu(NH 2 ) - His- Phe - Arg - Try - Gly - Lys - Pro - Val - Gly- Lys - Lys - Arg - Arg - Pro - Val - Lys - Val Tyr- ProOH (#<SP>1-24</SP>-corticotropin or its derivative) with Zn pryophosphate, in which at least 20 gram equivalents of Zn are present for each mol. of peptide is prepared by adding a therapeutically acceptable Zn salt to an aqueous solution containing pyro phosphate ions and the tetracosa peptide.
