Abstract
1,052,978. Photographic processes. KALLE A. G. Nov. 25, 1964.[Nov. 26, 1963], No. 47996/64. Heading G2C. [Also in Division C2] A diazotype process which comprises imagewise exposing a diazotype material consisting of a support coated with a layer containing a diazonium compound, a coupler and a heat-sensitive 1-naphthol- 8-sulphonamide of formula wherein R is hydrogen or alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X is hydrogen, alkyl or -SO 2 -NH-R' wherein R' is aryl or alkaryl and developing the exposed material by heating to above 80 C. Preferably the amount of sulphonamide present is at least equal to the diazonium compound so that sufficient amine or ammonia is generated on heating to give an image of good contrast.
