Abstract

1,049,597. Bed-settees. VONO Ltd. Oct. 5, 1965 [July 11, 1964], No. 29190/64. Heading A4J. A bed-settee includes a back 11, a seat 10 and a mattress frame 12 located beneath the seat 10 in the "settee position". Seat 10 is secured to a T-shaped bracket 21 provided with a stud 26 which is slidably and pivotally mounted in a slotted plate 34 secured to the back 11. The back 11 is pivotally mounted at 29 on a back frame 15. The seat and back may be moved to the "bed position" Fig. 2 (not shown) in which they are parallel and vertical. The mattress frame 12 has a stud 18 which may be pivoted in a slot 35 in bracket 21. The arrangement is such that as seat 10 is pivoted towards back 11 the mattress frame is moved upwardly and forwardly relative to the back. A stud 37 on mattress frame 12 is engagable in a hook-like recess 36 of bracket 21 to lock the mattress frame in the "bed-position".
