Abstract

1,049,446. Extensible lifts. TORNBORG & LUNDBERG A.B. Oct. 2, 1963 [Oct. 4, 1962; June 28, 1963], No. 38839/63. Heading B8H. Fig. 1 shows a twin cage lift of the traction pulley and counterweight type, each cage and its associated equipment being independent of the other. The upper pulley 29h and the top pulley 26h are both external of the mast and are carried on a fastener 27h (similarly for the left-hand cage 21v). Fig. 4 shows a twin cage lift of the traction pulley and counterweight type where each upper pulley 45h, 45v is mounted internally of the mast on an independent fastener 46h, 46v respectively and the respective top pulleys 42h, 42v are independently mounted on separate fasteners 43h, 43v respectively. Figs. 5, 6 show a twin cage lift of the traction pulley and counterweight type wherein the traction pulley is the top pulley. The lefthand cage 41v is suspended from ropes 59v passing over the top pulley 51v and attached to a counterweight 58v. The top pulley 51v is also the traction pulley and is attached to the fastener 52v which also carries a motor 53v, a brake 54v and a gear 55v. The height of any of the above masts may be increased by adding further sections by a crane or by means of a lift cage without disturbing the function of other lift parts or limitation of the movements of other lift cages.
