Abstract

The travelling crane has a carriage (3) with a descending trolley (9). This has multiple sheaves and can operate either two way or four way, depending on the load. A weight (22) is fitted and this can be removed automatically when not required. The trolley has fixed outer sheaves (8) and a transposable central sheave (11) with an eye (12, 13). When raised against a hook (14) on the carriage, the eye moves up a ramp (15) and is held. If the weight is required, the trolley is again raised the recesses (24) catch under projections (23) on the weight. This is lifted from its hooks (19, 20) and descends with the trolley.
