Abstract

The equipment is for handling loads between vessels at sea with the aid of a crane. It comprises a high-speed lifting and lowering mechanism (3) fitted between the hook on the crane (1) and that supporting the load. Energy accumulation devices can be coupled to this mechanism, so that it hoists or lowers the load at high speed, for a distance determined in advance. A control can be provided to hoist the load rapidly when the weight on the crane increases, and lower it rapidly when it decreases, and also to limit the hoisting or lowering speed to a predetermined value.
