Abstract

1,048,778. Band clips. RUHRKUNSTSTOFF G.m.b.H. Aug. 16, 1963 [Aug. 28, 1964], No. 34965/65. Heading E2B. A hose clip comprises a band 3 coiled in spaced helical turns in each direction from a transverse bridge 5 secured to a middle portion of the band and projecting laterally for the connection to its ends of the ends of the band, there being tensioning screws 4 at the ends of the bridge for applying tension to the band by its ends, with the turns of the band providing together with the screws, at least two hoseclipping convolutions. As shown, in which the clip is for use with hose armoured by spaced helical coils of wire 2 embedded in the hose wall the bridge 5 consisting of parts 9a, 9b is movably connected to the band, the ends of which are bent up and are apertured for connection to opposite ends of the respective bridge parts. In other arrangements, Figs. 2-4 (not shown) an additional tensioning screw is located intermediate the ends of the bridge, the band is divided where the bridge connection is made and the bridge parts are formed of layers of material, the ends of the band being clamped between the layers. The tensioning screw may be engaged in tapped holes in one of the bridge parts or they may be tightened by nuts applied thereto.
