A seat apparatus, which includes, in combination; (a) a frame having at least two rigid frame parts spaced apart from each other, (b) an assembly having (1) a series of sinuous, continuous, arched wires, each having two ends, each approaching one of said wires very close to each of said wires immediately adjacent to it, at frequent intervals, (2) fastening means that firmly hold said wires close to their ends and imperatively prevent relative movement of the wires with respect to said fastening means and (3) a plastic coating similar to a thin sleeve surrounding said wires and said fastening means, following the sinuosities of said wires and joining said wires to each other where they approach closely together, said approximations being sufficiently close to said covering will be of effective connection as a bridge between them, whereby said wires, said fastening means and the r plastic coverings constitute a one piece assembly defining a cylindrical arc, and (o) mounting means for attaching said assembly to said rigid frame portions through a space, which flatten said arc to a more flattened arch and set said set in tension.
