Abstract

1,048,338. Suction cleaners. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. July 29, 1965 [Aug. 24, 1964], No. 32493/65. Heading A4F. The housing of a suction cleaner comprises at least three sections, of which the front, intermediate, and rear sections 2, 22, and 23 contain, respectively, a brush roller 16 and a driving motor (not shown) therefor, a dust container 14, and a fan and motor unit 13. in the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1 the sections 21, 22 are detachably connected by a hinge 23 and the sections 22, 28 are fastened together by screws (not shown). In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the middle and rear housing sections are connected by screws which also mount the fan-motor unit in the rear housing section.
