Abstract

[Also in Division G4] A record card 12, Fig. 1, has a paper voucher 25 associated therewith, the voucher 25 being secured to a strip 13 which may be detached from card 12 by tearing along a line of spaced perforations. A number of such cards 12 formed in a continuous web 10 may be separated by tearing off side strips 15 and then tearing along perforations 20. Holes 16 may be used for feeding the web through a printer so that information may be recorded on cards 12 and their associated vouchers 25. In another embodiment, web 10 has two cards 12 arranged side-by-side across its width. The cards are not connected but are held together by a voucher strip which extends across both cards and which is perforated for separation at the dividing line between the cards. A method of manufacturing such a web is illustrated in Fig. 4 (not shown). Two card webs 100, 101 are fed side-by-side in correct alignment, each web having a feeding strip 61, 62 on one side only thereof. Glue is applied at 105 to each of the marginal strips (13, Fig. 1), and sections of a paper web 110 are sheared off and applied to the glued strips, adhesion being aided by rollers 125. Web 110 is perforated at 112 for separation of the cards as above described.
