Abstract

1,045,351. Wooden doors. COBURN ENGINEERS Ltd. Feb. 5, 1965 [Feb. 7, 1964], No. 5264/64. Heading E1J. A door comprises a body formed of a plurality of cedar wood panels 2 secured together by tongued and grooved edges 3, 4 so as to present a smooth inner surface and a shiplapped outer surface, and a galvanised steel frame 6 of channel section 5 embracing the peripheral edges of the panel, the frame members being secured together by corner brackets 8 and to flanges 7 of the frame by bolts. Such bolts may also be used to secure wheel/roller brackets (Fig. 4, not shown) to the brackets 8. A metal rail 10 is secured at its ends to the flanges 7 of upper and lower members 6 and has flanges 11 by which it is secured at intervals to the body. Appertures 13, 14 in the panel and rail register for the passage therethrough of a locking device. A handle 12 is secured to the rail 10.
