Abstract

1,045,109. Disc brakes. ALLBAU ENTWICKLUNG G.tn.b.H. Sept. 20, 1965 [Sept. 19, 1964], No. 40020/65. Heading F2E. In a disc brake of the floating calliper type. the calliper housing 5 is supported for axial sliding movement with respect an anchor plate 6 by a pair of cylindrical rubber blocks 15 engaged in grooves 17 in the housing and in grooves 19 in arms 13 of the plate 6, whereby the pads, whose backing plates 8 are axially slidable on a rod 9 carried by the housing 5, can tilt sufficiently to align their friction surfaces with that of the disc. Each arm 13 has a slot to accommodate the disc 2 which is an annulus attached by bolts 3 to a hub member 4 (Fig. 2, not shown). The housing 5 carries a cylinder 11 for applying one pad directly and the other by reaction through the housing. The arms 13 provide abutment surfaces to prevent circumferential movement of the pads.
