Abstract

[Also in Divisions G1 and G3] A variable speed unit connected to a processing machine and arranged to operate control valves in a circuit which controls the rate of feeding of the machine comprises an input shaft 104 driven by the processing machine and an output shaft 106 having cams which operate the control devices, rotation of the input shaft being transferred to the output shaft by an adjustable roller 134 bearing on discs 112, 114 mounted on the shafts 104, 106, and the ratio of the speed of rotation being adjustable by manually adjusting the position of the roller 134 between the shafts 104, 106.
