1,093,432. Balancing shafts. BOLL8- ROYCE Ltd. Feb. 10, 1965, No. 5877/65. Heading F2U. A mass 17 attached to a shaft 10 mounted in bearings 11, 12 prevents, at one critical speed, distortion of the shaft arising from its asymmetric mass distribution and a clearance between the shaft and one of the bearings. Calculations to determine the mass 17 and its position 11 from the bearing 12 are provided.
