Abstract

1,044,159. Cleaning spinning &c., machines. JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd. Oct. 31. 1963 [Dec. 5 1962],No. 45968/62. Heading D1F. Pneumatic apparatus for removing waste fibres produced by yarn breakages in a spinning frame comprises a suction nozzle adjacent the path of each yarn end being spun, the nozzles being arranged in groups each connected to a duct extending along the length of the frame and drawing air through two filter boxes each connected independently to a separate group or groups of nozzles by the duct. The apparatus enables separate recovery of different fibres being spun in respective groups and the use of such fibres in further processing without sorting. In the apparatus shown, the waste fibres are sucked into nozzles 14 and pass through ducts 12 and 13, 6 and 7, to separate compartments in a fan box 3 to be deposited on filter screens 4 and 5. A sliding partition 11 may be removed if two compartments are not required in a particular spinning operation.
