Abstract

1,043,702. Ink-ribbon spools. J. PARKES. July 5, 1963 [April 5. 1962]. No. 7786/62. Heading B6F. An ink-ribbon spool comprises an outer, hollow, cylindrical member 1, Fig. 1, provided with flanges 2 and adapted to receive an inkribbon by means of a projecting tongue 3, Fig. 2, and a removable and interchangeable drum-like centre-piece 4, closed by end walls 7 provided with apertures 8 and 9, for reception of the spool spindle and spool driving dog (not shown), respectively. The centre-piece 4 is provided with a projection 5 engaging a corresponding groove 6, the centre-piece 4 entering the outer member 1 to provide a driving arrangement for the spool. Both centre-piece and outer member may be constructed of sheet metal or plastics material. The groove and projection arrangement may be replaced by a bayonet lock.
