Abstract

1340310 Ink-ribbon cartridge ING C OLIVETTI & C SPA 3 Oct 1972 [4 Oct 1971] 45618/72 Heading B6F An ink-ribbon cartridge container has an opening 52 in the proximity of the take-up spool 33 adapted to receive a pair of ribbon-feed rollers 53, 54 mounted on the machine on which the cartridge is fitted. The ribbon 9 leaves the supply spool 22 and is guided by a cylindrical element 32 before exiting from the cartridge via a first aperture 7. The ribbon enters via a second aperture 8 and is guided by members 43, 48, 49 and 51 so that it passes through the region of the feed rollers 53, 54 along a constant path which is in no way effected by the amount of ribbon taken-up by spool 33. The feed rollers 53, 54 are driven independently of the take-up spool 33 mounted on a drive-shaft 41 of the machine. Braking.-The supply spool 22 comprises a tube 23 with a flange 24. The flange 24 is provided with two pairs of concentic slots connected by two radial slots which define diametrically opposed arcuate tongues 28 and 29. These tongues project downwards and bear resiliently on a notched or serrated ring 31 having a high coefficient of friction.
