Abstract

1382664 Selective printers ENGLISH NUMBERING MACHINES Ltd 7 Feb 1973 [15 March 1972] 11976/72 Heading B6F An ink ribbon 100 is wound on a take-up spool 102 by an intermittent drive to the spool which varies with the amount of ribbon on the spool so that the linear rate of feed of the ribbon is constant. The spool 102 is driven through a uni-directional clutch 110 by a reciprocated link 114 from a cam 120 associated with the machine drive. Each throw of the link 114 is limited by a pin 134 engaging a cam surface 136 on a lever 115 carrying the link 114, the pin being positioned according to the amount of ribbon on the take-up spool as sensed by a feeler 126.
