951,297. Typewriters; ink-ribbon mechanisms. ADDMASTER CORPORATION. Aug. 27, 1962 [Sept. 25, 1961], No. 32804/62. Heading B6F. Ink-ribbon mechanism.-An ink-ribbonmechanism for an adding-listing machine, in which a short ink ribbon 185, Fig. 3, wound around an inking core 198, is cyclically operable to be moved out and into contact with the said core for effecting a printing impression between a printing medium and a plurality of type sectors 14, comprises an ink ribbon magazine 186, having secured therein by studs 197 the inking core and one end of the ink ribbon 185, the other end of which passes through a slot 204 over a guide roller 205, the type sectors 14 a guide roller 2091 carried by a slide 206 and is attached by an eyelet 207 to a hook 307. To effect impression the slide 206 is pulled to the right (Fig. 4, not shown) to present an inked portion of the ribbon 185 withdrawn from the magazine 186, at the printing station. After impression the ribbon is rewound on the inking core 186, by a tensioned spring 200, Fig. 6, and the slide retracted by a tensioned spring 208. The ink ribbon magazine comprises a shell 188, Fig. 5, containing a spool 194 rotatably supported on a tubular sleeve 190 integral with a flange wall 187, provided with a stud 193 to prevent the magazine from rotation when fitted over a stud 191. The wall 187 and spool 194 are provided with flanges 201, 209 respectively, to accommodate the spring 200, attached by studs 202, 203 of the wall and spool, respectively.
