[Also in Division H2] A back boiler in a gas-fired space heater is connected to a domestic hot water system and is fitted with a temperature responsive element adapted to give a visual indication by means of a pointer 12 and scale 13 of the temperature of water 5 in the boiler or thereby of the quantity of hot water available in the system as a whole. The temperature-responsive element is housed in a tubular stem 10 mounted in a brass plug 18. In a modification (Figs. 3, 4 and 5, not shown), a thermally-operated electrical switch (see Division H2) is mounted on the wall of the boiler and operates at a predetermined temperature of the boiler water to complete a circuit to audible or visible signalling means. The thermal element may be adjusted to operate the signalling means at different temperatures.
