Abstract

Cones, cheeses or other packages of textile yarn are placed on a pair of rotating rollers B or B1 (Figs. 1 and 2 not shown) to be rotated and conveyed beneath nozzles d1 and sprayed with conditioning liquid, e.g. water, wetting out agent or penetrating agent. For cones or cheeses the rollers are parallel and cylindrical whereas for cylindrical packages they are inclined or tapered and may be driven at different speeds. Idler rollers may be provided above the packages to exert a squeezing action thereon. The amount of liquid sprayed may be regulated automatically or by hand. After spraying the packages are placed in racks where conditioning continues.
