Abstract

1,041,241. Reciprocating pumps. FRANCAISE POUR LA SEPARATION L'EMULSION ET LE MELANGE (PROCEDES SEM) S.A. March 8, 1963 [Aug. 1, 1962], No. 9375/63. Heading F1A. Inlet and outlet valve assemblies 31, 31<SP>1</SP> are held in position in alignment with a discharge passage 17 by means of members 30, 30<SP>1</SP>, secured in the pump housing by nuts 32, 32<SP>1</SP>, and in which the aligned inlet and outlet pipes 5, 6 are slidably received. The valve assemblies may be removed without disconnecting the inlet and outlet pipes. After the valves have been removed the cylinder block 11 may be screwed out of the bore 3 then the piston may be unscrewed from the actuating rod 15. The space around the valves enclosed by the cover 34 may be supplied with heating or cooling fluid. The pump flange 10 is secured to the flange 9 of the actuating means. The piston may be replaced by a diaphragm which may be hydraulically actuated.
