Abstract

1,040,368. Reinforcement spacers. C. O. MALMEN. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 29, 1963], No. 31116/64. Heading E1V. A reinforcement spacer formed of synthetic material, and of generally U-shape, has its flanges 1, 2 profiled to receive bars running perpendicular to said flanges. The spacer may connect two bars running at right-angles to each other (as in Fig. 4), or it may be used to support a single bar running through the recesses 6, 7 in the flanges, the distance 'a' (Fig. 1) being 1À5 times the bar diameter, or it may be used to support a single bar running between, and parallel to, the flanges 1, 2, and resting on the base of the U-shape, in which case the spacer is modified to the extent of having longer legs 3, 4 and 5 so that the distance 'e' becomes 1À5 times the bar diameter.
