Abstract

986,450. Spacers for reinforcing rods. K. N. OLIVER. Feb. 14, 1964 [Feb. 16, 1963], No. 6363/63. Heading E1V. A distance piece for supporting a reinforcing bar comprises a triangular body having a base a<SP>6</SP> terminating at its ends in feet a<SP>4</SP> which extend at right angles to the plane of the triangular face of the body, the apex of the body being provided with arms a<SP>2</SP> extending away from the base and defining a channel for reception of the reinforcing bar B. Lips a<SP>5</SP> at the ends of the arms a<SP>2</SP> engage the bar B. The distance piece may be made of a plastics material such as polyvinylchloride or polyurethane.
