Abstract

1,039,321. Pneumatic conveyers. VOKES Ltd. Nov. 12, 1962 [Sept. 22, 1961], No. 34031/61. Heading B8A. In a pneumatic feed system for delivering tobacco through a branched pipeline 8, Fig. 1, to a number of dischargers 2 associated with utilizing machines 1, the dischargers 2 are maintained with a full load which is released through the flap doors 10 immediately upon a demand signal from a sensing device 12 in the utilizing machine. After release of the load, a sensing device 14 in the discharger 2 signals a demand controlling the operating circuits 3 of the feeder 9 to refill the discharger. The sensing devices 12 may control the release of catches 11, Fig. 2 (not shown), normally holding the doors 10 against gravity. In a modification the doors 10 are normally maintained closed by continued suction, control valves 7 cutting off the suction line to release the doors 10.
