Abstract

1,038,961. Shower baths. G. W. USHER. Feb. 18, 1963 [Nov. 18, 1961], No. 41345/61. Heading A4N. [Also in Division F2] A thermometer 21 is arranged in a transparent pipe 20 to indicate the temperature of the water flowing from a mixer valve to a shower rose. The mixer valve has an outer stationary cylinder 1 with three holes for the supply pipes 3 and outlet pipe 2 and an inner co-axial rotary cylinder 5 with two diametrically opposed elongated ports. An inlet port 6, which can be made partially to overlap with both inlet holes, has a slit extension 8 to provide an attenuated flow of cold water while the hot water is being supplied in full through the main aperture of the port. The rotation of cylinder 5 is limited by the engagement of pin 17 therein with fixed pin 16.
