Abstract

A water supply fitting such as a tap 10, of the type used in association with sanitary receptacles such as baths, incorporates a liquid crystal thermometer 11 which gives an indication of the temperature of the water supplied. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Water delivery orifice incorporating a liquid crystal thermometer The present invention relates to a water delivery orifice of the type used in sanitary fittings such as sinks, bidets, wash-basins, shower-baths, baths and the like.
The water delivery orifice embodied according to the invention, which can optionally also incorporate a tap, is characterized by the fact that it comprises a liquid crystal thermometer.
This thermometer, which is preferably in the form of a thin strip, can for example be advantageously applied within a recess formed in the upper wall of the tap.
The liquid crystal thermometer is thus separated from the flow of water only by a thin portion of the upper wall of the delivery orifice, with the result that its response is practically immediate and in consequ ence the user can, by turning the taps, adjust the temperature of the water to the desired degree.
The structural and functional characteristics of the invention, and its advantages, will be more readily understood from the following exemplifying description referred to the attached schematic drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a water delivery orifice incorporating a liquid crystal thermometer; and Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view.
The water delivery orifice according to the invention is indicated overall in the drawings by 10, and can have any configuration and can optionally also incorporate a tap for the control and mixing of the hot and cold water delivery.
According to the present invention, the orifice 10 comprises a liquid crystal thermometer 11, preferably in the form of a strip fitted in a recess 12 formed in the upper part 13 of the said orifice.
The water-flow temperature can thus be readily controlled and regulated by the user inasmuch as the thermometer is practically immediate as a result of the ample heat-exchange surface and the fineness both of the strip incorporating the liquid crystals and of the portion 14 of the wall 13.

2. An orifice according to Claim 1, characterized by the fact that said liquid crystal thermometer has the form of a strip.
3. An orifice according to Claim 2, characterized by the fact that said thermometer is fitted within a recess formed in the upper wall of said orifice.

SPECIFICATION Water delivery orifice incorporating a liquid crystal thermometer The present invention relates to a water delivery orifice of the type used in sanitary fittings such as sinks, bidets, wash-basins, shower-baths, baths and the like. The water delivery orifice embodied according to the invention, which can optionally also incorporate a tap, is characterized by the fact that it comprises a liquid crystal thermometer. This thermometer, which is preferably in the form of a thin strip, can for example be advantageously applied within a recess formed in the upper wall of the tap.
