Apparatus for cleaning pipes, particularly beer pipes, comprises a bi-compartment vessel 10 or a pair of interconnected containers in which one compartment A or container, serving to contain a cleansing or detergent agent and incorporating an outlet tube 11 adapted to be connected to pipe to be cleaned, is in communication with the other compartment B or container which is adapted to be connected through pipe 12 to a pressure flushing liquid supply. As shown, a vessel-dividing partition 101 is provided at its upper end with a notch 104 such that when water from a pressure supply begins to fill compartment B, air in the vessel is compressed and forces out the detergent in compartment A through the tube 11 to the pipes to be cleaned. When the water level in compartment B rises to the notch, water overflows in the compartment A and progressively weakens the detergent mixture therein until ultimately clean water passes out through the tube 11. In the embodiments of Figs. 2 and 3, two containers 10a, 10b of synthetic plastics or a non-corrosive metal, such as aluminium, are arranged one within the other, the relative spacing between the tops of the two containers providing the necessary inter-communication. In Fig. 4, compartments A and B are formed by a horizontal vessel partition and are interconnected by a pipe 11e. In the final embodiment, Fig. 5, two separate containers 10c, 10d are interconnected by a bridging pipe 10f.
