Abstract

1492630 Filling containers EDELEANU GmbH 12 Dec 1975 [1 July 1975] 51061/75 Heading B8T Apparatus for preventing the uncontrolled excape of gases during the filling of a container comprises a telescopic filling pipe having an upper part 10 and a lower part 1 which is slidably disposed within and spaced from a jacket tube 2, a frusto-conical elastic packing 4 on the outside of the jacket tube for forming a seal with a filling aperture of the container, a jacket 7a around and spaced from the filling pipe and connected with the upper part of the jacket tube and a gas outlet 12 communicating with a space 15 between the jacket and the filling pipe, and means, e.g. springs 18, for suspending the filling pipe to permit it to swing from side to side. Preferably an overflow bore 22 conducts liquid which may excape during operation away from the space 15. A pivoting cup 23 collects and conducts fluid from the bore 22 to a slop tank (not shown).
