Abstract

A method of erecting a pitched roof building consists of erecting two spaced rows of aligned columns with the height of the columns of each row 1, 2, 2, 1 increasing towards the middle of the building and then interconnecting the corresponding columns of the spaced rows by longitudinally extending framework members 4 for supporting the inclined rafters 5. An outer skin is bolted to the columns whilst an inner skin is secured thereto by grouting poured into opposed keying grooves in said members, see Fig. 4 (not shown). For details of the invention applied to a chalet-type bungalow and a double-storey house Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) should be referred to respectively.
