Abstract
1,036,301. Portable liquid fuel pump. LUTHER-WERKE, LUTHER & JORDAN. Feb 5 1963 [March 13, 1962], No. 4609/63. Heading A4T. [Also in Division F1] A pumping plant for liquid fuel comprises a portable supporting frame containing the pump and its driving motor and means for mechanical connection to other supporting frames and for liquid connection to the devices carried by these frames so that the fuel can be transferred between the constituent parts of the plant. In the arrangement shown, a supporting frame 1 welded up from steel tubing carries a pump 3, an I.C. engine 2 for driving the pump, a fuel tank 4 for the engine, a fire extinguisher 5 and a tool kit 6. Another frame 11 carries a device 16 for filtering the fuel being pumped and removing water from it, and a further frame 10 carries a hose reel 12 and a register 13. The frames are connected together by inserting spigots 9 on each frame into the ends of tubes forming parts of an adjacent frame, and held together by catches 14. Interconnecting hoses 18, 19 are connected by means of quick-release couplings. The pump inlet, which may include a coarse filter 8, is connected to the source of fuel. The fuel is delivered by way of the device 16, register 13 and a hose terminating in a dispensing pistol 15. If the device 16 is not required, the frame 11 is omitted, the frames 1 and 10 then being connected directly to one another. Carrying handles 7 are provided.
