Abstract

An aerosol composition for coating cooking vessels comprises a film-forming dimethylpolysiloxane dissolved in a volatile solvent in admixture with a finely-divided inorganic bodying agent and a volatile propellant. In the example a dimethylpolysiloxane is dissolved in methylene dichloride and mixed with a silica aerogel and a mixture of two commercial fluorinated hydrocarbon propellants.ALSO:An aerosol composition for coating cooking vessels comprises a film-forming dimethylpolysiloxane dissolved in a volatile solvent in admixture with a finely-divided inorganic bodying agent and a volatile propellant. In the example a dimethylpolysiloxane is dissolved in methylene dichloride and mixed with a silica aerogel and a mixture of two commercial fluorinated hydrocarbon propellants.ALSO:Cooking vessels, e.g. the interior surfaces of ovens and cooking pots and the exterior surfaces of baking pans, are coated using aerosol compositions comprising a film-forming dimethylpolysiloxane dissolved in a volatile solvent in admixture with a finely divided inorganic bodying agent and a volatile propellant. The surfaces coated may be of metal, glass or ceramic. In an example of a composition of a dimethylpolysiloxane dissolved in methylene dichloride silica aerogel and a mixture of two commercial fluorinated hydrocarbon propellants is applied to the interior surfaces of an oven by means of a conventional hand-held aerosol container with a finger operated valve.
