Abstract

103,566. Barber, F. April 5, 1916. Air, treating with liquids.-In apparatus for purifying air, the air passes from a pulp filter by a pipe g to a chamber c containing glycerine mixed with formaldehyde or a similar preservative or antiseptic, through which the air is passed, the pipe g being connected to a pipe g' provided at its lower end with a multiarmed perforated spreader i, or a rose, from which the air rises through the glycerine &c. and gauze trays immersed therein. The outlet l leads to a cup m, with a strainer n, and the service pipe o. The top and bottom of the chamber are detachable from the sides, which may be made of glass, and the pipe connexions are made in lengths coupled by unions so that the apparatus can readily be dismembered and cleaned; a drain cock q is provided.
