Abstract

1,035,547. Slip couplings. RANK XEROX Ltd. Aug. 18, 1964 [Sept. 3, 1963], No. 33624/64. Headings F2C and F2U. An overload slip coupling for use in the drive to the take-up spool of cleaning web feeding apparatus in an xerography machine, comprises a driving gear 451 journalled about a shaft SH13 and retained from sliding leftwards along the shaft by a ring 454, a coiled torsion spring fixed between a retaining ring 465 secured to theshaft and a ring 455 journalled upon the latter biasing the ring 455 so to turn that a cam 456 on its rear face reacts against a cam 466 on the fixed ring 465 and slides the ring 455 leftwards, a cork ring 458 carried by the latter then engaging frictionally with the side of the driving gear 451. Lubricant grooves 459 are formed in the engaging face of the cork ring 458.
