Abstract

103,540. Babcock & Wilcox, and Lennox, A. Feb. 5, 1916. Feeding-devices for endless belt conveyers.- A rotary device for feeding coal, sand, &c. to conveyers, shoots, &c. is formed with a partcylindrical casing 6 extending between the inlet 2 and the outlet 3 and on the other side of the inlet 2, and being concentric with the paddlewheel and so proportioned that the radial vanes 5 form a seal between the inlet 2 and the outlet 3 of the casing. the inlets being provided at the sides and at the periphery of the paddlewheel. The axis of the paddle-wheel is arranged so that the material is fed on to the vanes at one side only of the vertical centre line of the apparatus. The vanes may have side cheeks 7.
