My invention has relation to new and useful improvements in grain conveyers for loading grain from a granary into a wagon.
'i'his apparatus may be transferred from one bin to another with but little trouble. As this device is manually or mechanically' operated, it can be employed with any bin that is situated above the wagon level.
With the foregoing and other objects in view,` my invention consists of the novel combination, construction and arrangement of parts as are described in this specification, illustrated in the accompanyin ydrawings forming a part thereof and particularly pointed out, in the appended claim.
Reference being mad to the drawings: Figure 1 is a vertical, lolgitudinal sectional view oI my inventi'on, showing how it would appear in relation to the wagon into which grain is conveyed. Fig. 2 is a top plan view of my invention.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, in which like numerals designate like parts throughout, my invention, in detail, is described as follows:
The numeral 1 indicates a pipe or drum of any length or'diameter desired adapted for the purpose, preferably made of galvan ized iron but it may be constructed of any suitable material. Said pipe or drum is provided with a head 2 at each of its ends,
which heads are removably held imposition Y by means of a plurality of set screws 3 binding against the annular flange 4 of their respective head, which yianges extend into the said drum until the outer edge 5 of each head 4 contacts with its respective end of said drum. f
Into the pipe or drum is snugly fitted a screw conveyer 6, the shaft or spindle 7 of which has bearings 8 formed integral with and at the center of the heads 4. Said spindle 7 is held against endwisemovement by means of a lCotter-pin 9 and an annular ring 10, which ring is formed integral `therewith. The screw conveyor 6is rotated by said drum and extending slantingly down- Ward is a spout 12 by means of which, together with the aid of a hose, if necessary, the grain is directed into any part of the wagon desired.
Grain is conveyed into the pipe or drum by means of the spout 12', which is secured to the upper side of the drum by suitable means. Said spout is substantially rectangular in shape. Slidably held in slots 13.y out horizontally in the end walls 14 of said spout 12', is a slide 15 provided with an opening 16, which opening registers with an opening 17 in the wall of the drum 1, when the slide is slid forward until checked by means of the downwardly turned right angle bend 18. The forward portion of said slide is turned back against itself terminating in a. hooked portion 19, which serves as a stop when the slide is slid rearward in order to cut off' the flow of grain.
Between the slide 15 and the wall of said drum is an inclined wall 20, which directs the grain into said openings 17 after it passes through said openings 16 in the slide 15.
An inclined wall 21 is formed upon each of the side walls 22 of the spout 12 immediately above the slide, the purpose of the lastmentioned inclined walls being to direct the grain through the openings 16 of the slide 15.
The numeral 23 indicates the spout of the bin or elevator to which my conveyer is attached.
The numeral 24 indicates the wagon into which the grain is being conveyed.
Although I have specifically described the construction, combination and arrangement of the several parts of my invention, yet I do not confine myself to such specific combination and arrangement of parts but may exercise the right to make such changes in -the form and construction of my invention Having described my invention, what I v claim as new, is:
