Abstract

1,035,314. Mixing under reduced pressure. GEORGE TWEEDY & CO. Ltd. April 16,1963 [April 16, 1962 (2); Nov. 6, 1962], Nos. 14552/62; 14554/62 and 41876/62. Heading B1C. Apparatus for mixing and developing dough under reduced pressure comprises a closed chamber 26 mounted in a frame 24 tiltable on a horizontal axis such that it may be moved from an extreme, discharge position (Fig. 3, not shown) to a half-tilt position in which fats are fed into the chamber, and thence to a vertical position in which measured quantities of water and flour are supplied from a tank 20 and hopper 22. A canopy 71 is raised so that a lid 146 may be slid laterally along tiltable tracks 142 and sealingly fixed on the chamber 26. Air is then evacuated from the chamber through a pipe 176 and the dough mixed by a powerdriven motor plate 30, the frame 24 being kept steady by a plunger cylinder 47.
