Abstract

1,241,665. Mixing apparatus. VITAFOAM Ltd. 26 March, 1969 [29 March, 1968], No. 15091/68. Heading B1C. Apparatus for mixing the components of a polyurethane foam comprises a mixing chamber 10 having a stirrer 11 and within an extension of the mixing chamber a container 12 in which the quantities required for a single shot are pumped. Upon completion of all pumping operation, pneumatic cylinders 18 acting through pillars 16 lower the base 14 of the container 12 to discharge the contents into the mixing chamber. These operations are successively repeated under control of a magnetic float 22 in a sight glass 21, which assumes the level of the mixture in the mixing chamber 10 and operates adjustable upper and lower limit switches 23.
