Abstract

1,034,315. Mattresses. UNITED STATES BEDDING CO. April 30, 1963 [May 22, 1962], No. 17002/63. Heading A4M. In a mattress construction of the type including a plurality of unconnected coil springs 10 arranged with their axes in parallel relationship and including panels of organic fibrous material 12 overlaying both the opposite ends of the coils, the coil ends 14 are bonded to the panels by adhesive 16 which completely surrounds the ends of the coil springs so that they are held against displacement with respect to the surfaces of the panels to which they are bonded. The coils may be arranged in staggered rows whereby the coil springs in adjacent rows are diagonally arranged one from the other. The mattress may be reinforced by additional coil springs in the outer rows of the assembly, Fig. 7 (not shown).
