1,034,074. Supporting lamps. R. A. HAWKINS. Dec. 6, 1962 [Dec. 6, 1961], No. 43729/61 Heading F4R. A lamp, especially a vehicle spot-light, is carried by a member 15 mounted on a pivot-pin 17 between the forks 16 of a carrier member 12 which is housed in a tubular body 6 having a slot in the shape of a shallow V, a pin 19 on the member 15 engaging in the slot. The body 6 has an enlarged lower end 7 carried by a base 8 secured to the vehicle. The end 7 encloses a gear 23, meshing with a pinion 24 on a shaft 25 carrying a bevel gear 26 meshing with a bevel gear 27 on a shaft 28 connected by a flexible drive shaft to a hand wheel mounted in the vicinity of the driver of the vehicle. Turning of the hand wheel rotates the lamp about a vertical axis and simultaneously the pin 19 and slot cause the light beam to dip to an extent proportional to the rotation of the lamp.
