Abstract
1,034,061. Thermoelectric devices. DE HAVILLAND AIRCRAFT CO. Ltd. Oct. 30, 1962 [Oct. 19, 1961], No. 22130/61. Addition to 1,007,436. Heading H1K. In a multi-stage thermo-electric cooler unit consisting of a plurality of series connected assemblies each containing at least one pair of thermo-electrically opposite elements, the number of pairs of elements per assembly increases in the direction away from the cooling end and a central aperture is provided through the assemblies. The arrangement shown (Fig. 1) is a two-stage unit. A transistor 16 is supported by a flange 17 on a heat exchange member 14 and disposed in a central aperture extending through both stages. The cooler assembly is in thermal contact through an insulator plate 13 and aluminium disc 15 with a fin assembly as described in Specification 1,034,062.
