Abstract
1,033,225. Self-propelled missiles; dropping from heights. HIRTENBERGER PATRONEN-, ZUNDHUTCHEN-, UND METALLWABENFABRIK A.G. May 27, 1964 [June 10, 1963], No. 21959/64. Headings F3A and F3C. [Also in Division B7] An aircraft or missile comprises a plurality of elongated elements 1, 2, 3, 4 of streamlined crosssection arranged in grid formation and detachable from one another. The longitudinally extending elements may have rudders 6 and propellers 5 or rocket motors, and the transverse elements may be angled to provide dihedral (Figs. 4 and 6, not shown). The elements may be hollow or may be made of synthetic resin in which is embedded explosive and/or incendiary material and optionally, splinter material. When used as a weapon, the elements may be separated by explosive charges.
