Abstract
1,033,031. Endless conveyers. G. FAULKNER. Oct. 8, 1962 [Oct. 9, 1961], No. 36210/61. Heading B8A. [Also in Division B6] An apparatus for transversely guiding webs or conveyer bands has inclined rollers 20 mounted in a bracket 15 which can be angularly displaced about a pivot to effect lateral movement of a web 10 passing over the rollers in a path inclined to the general plane or path of movement of the bracket 15. Angular displacement of the bracket causes an increase in tension on one side of the web and a corresponding decrease on the opposite side. The bracket 15 may be clamped in adjusted position by a locking bolt 22, Fig. 3, by a screw 32, Fig. 4 (not shown), engaging a nut 33, or may be adjusted automatically under the control edge sensing rollers 47a, Fig. 5 (not shown), on levers 47 and switches 46 by double-acting air or hydraulic cylinders 42, 43. The levers 47 and switches 48 may be replaced by photo-electric cells.
