1,031,237. Packages; cartons. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 19, 1964 [Oct. 22, 1963], No. 42505/64. Headings B8C and B8P. Strings of packages for use in vending machines are formed by joining carton blanks or wrappers by sewing so that a double thread extends between adjacent packages. The thread may be of wire and the stitch holes form an opening line indicator or facilitate tearing. The thread may secure in place a separate blank 7 forming a compartment in an erected carton, this blank being of conductive material to act as a screen where part of the contents is to be heated by radio frequency energy.
