Abstract

A lubricant comprises a low-congealing natural hydrocarbon oil, a synthetic hydrocarbon oil having a molecular weight below 8000 Staudinger and at least 10% synthetic ester oil formed from C6\s4 diols and monocarboxylic acids or from C6\s4mono-alcohols and C19 dicarboxylic acids. The synthetic hydrocarbon oil may be a polyethylene. The ester specified is that formed from nonadecylene glycol with 2 mols. of 2-ethyl caproic acid. The lubricant may also contain polyacrylates.
